AMO (American Math Olympiad)

The American Mathematics Olympiad (AMO), developed in partnership with Southern Illinois University and SIMCC, is dedicated to providing enhanced STEM/STEAM opportunities for students worldwide. Since its launch in 2022, the AMO has experienced remarkable growth, with initial enrollment of 18,000 participants expanding to 37,000 contestants from 35 countries, spanning grades 2 through 12. This growth reflects the dedication of all participants and the promising potential of the AMO. We are thrilled to announce that this year, the top two global grade 11/12 contestants with the highest combined AMO 2023 scores and IJHS Scholarship Points, from a top 10 SIMCC Country Council Partner, will each be awarded a US$28,000 Tuition Scholarship. This scholarship provides an exciting opportunity to attend Southern Illinois University Carbondale (SIUC) in the Fall 2025 semester. As the AMO continues to grow, we look forward to offering additional scholarships and work-study opportunities at SIUC for SIMCC contestants.

Mode of competition: Online

Competition Date: Saturday, 8 November 2025 | 5PM - Late (Sydney Time)

Eligible for Grades: Primary 2 to Junior College 2 (Grades 2 to 12)

Entry Requirements: Recommended Bronze  and above in SMC 2024

Scholarship Points (SPs): Perfect Score=3points, Gold=2points, Silver=1point, Bronze=0.5point

Awards: Personalized Medallion (Perfect Score ). Top 8%= Gold, next 12% = Silver, next 20% = Bronze, next 10% = Honorable Mention
